Springvale Botanical Cemetery

Not really a place that I would want to visit, as I wish Mum and Dad were still alive. It’s peaceful, surrounded by nature and natural surroundings. Well kept gardens and lawn areas. Neat and tidy. It is great to have ample parking as to be able to get close access to paying my respects to my loving parents

Funerals are one of life’s unfortunate necessities, and Springvale seems to do them as unobtrusively as possible.
Their support staff from the customer service centre to the garden and park keepers to the wait staff in the function rooms, are thoughtful without being sombre or overly solicitous.
The grounds are kept beautifully and the various “chapels” and function rooms are very welcoming to any number of faiths and tastes.
It is worthwhile to go out for a visit and a wander to look at the cemetary sections. I think every possible type of faith has their own section and there are dominant and individual grave styles in each. From the minimalist bronze flat name marker on a grassy lawn, to family mausoleums, and hindu and jewish, and catholic and c of e marble and granite sacophogi, etc etc, to just plain memorial gardens, this is a quiet and welcoming site. It is not macabre or full of sadness, it is actually quite serene.
The botanical cemetary is absolutely huge, but if you get lost just ask a grounds keeper for help, or find a blue line on the road to follow to the main visitors centre and get yourself a map.

I Believe one of most beautiful cemetery’s in the world. The size of it is also unbelievable and as I heard one of the largest cemetery’s in the world. It is well maintained and truly feels like you are in a botanical garden. When you visit the cemetery you could spend a quality time in it. It is kind of a historic place and you could get lot of information from online.
